Highway Miles

Fast on the highway but yet to spin the wheels.

After clocking up 2000 miles in Bobby Big Rig it is disappointing to say that we are still yet to spin the wheels in anger in the Golden Rocket #59 sprint car due to rain. The rig left it’s winter vacation spot in Florida headed to Charlotte were we picked up two motors courtesy of Ray Evernham Enterprises before planning on heading to Paducah, KY for our first race of the season but the man upstairs had other plans and the race was a rain out. So with a day to spare the team headed to Kooks Custom Headers to show off the sprint car to the staff and thank them for the unbelievable craftsmanship and hard work that they put into the new stainless headers.

With our races cancelled we headed over to watch both Erin Crocker Evernham and Ray Evernham run their 360 sprint cars at a USCS sanctioned race on Friday night. For a guy that has raced karts, sprint cars, midgets, a modified and a touring car it is still cool to say that nothing compares to a sprint car and when you see a couple of NASCAR stars and a guy that has raced a F1 car wondering around the pits of a local sprint car show it confirms that there is no greater beast to tame or greater spectacle than a sprint car. Erin did an awesome job winning the A Main and Ray impressed many with his strong finish especially considering his lack of sprint car experience.

Straight after the checkers flew we hauled butt to Pevely, MO and after a 12 hour drive and a nasty truck stop shower we received the news that again mother nature put an end to our Saturday night racing program. With the disappointment of a complete washout we headed to R&R to pick up our new shirts and check out their die cast collection and finalize some details on the production of the number ??????? (soon to be announced) Diecast sprint car. After another twelve hours of driving we pulled into the shop in Forest Lake, MN.

With the disappointment of last weekends rainout we were primed and pumped to kick the beast into action at Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam, WI for the IRA sanction show but again inclement weather has put a stop to that.
