Well I did not keep up with my column as much as I wanted to but when your my age there are way to many other fun things to be doing than writing a column.
We are back in the states and I am enjoying the snow but not the bundling up!
It was a great trip once again to Australia and not to mention that my Daddy did a lot of winning which always makes things a little more pleasant around the Tatnell household. Daddy always tells me “if Mom’s happy we are all happy” not quite sure what that means but I think it has to do with being able to buy me more things!
This years trip was really special because my Aunty Noani and Uncle Richie came to visit Australia and got to meet all our Aussie cousins and also all our friends in Australia. We celebrated Aunty Noan’s “special birthday” (not supposed to mention how old I guess its rude) this year on the 25th of January and Dad bagged his first “Classic” win for the Krikke Family. GEEZ what a fun night that was!
I so enjoy the Krikke Clan.... I met Michelle Krikke (Holly) this year and I had so much fun with her and Taylor at the Classic. They took me in the jumping castle and I think they finally got tired of lugging me up and down the slide!
The second week of February all of us flew to Perth for the Australian Title and we also got to spend time with The entire “Day Family” they are so much fun. We had a BBQ at Lisa and Steve and Jasmine’s house and got to play with all of the kids. As for the race weekend well that’s another story. My Dad won on the prelim night starting out of the second row with really tough drivers ahead of him and he pulled off another win! When Dad came back to the trailer it was great Dad gave me the trophy and we got to do an interview on the TV. The second night was not so flash and I am glad that I was asleep for the feature because I know that Mom would not have been real happy and I am sure Dad was not. When he got back to the truck all he said was “oh well” it was not our night. My Dad has won just about all there is to win in sprintcars he’s awesome so I was not really that sad he cost us about $18k running 4th at the Title.
We are now settled in back at home in Forest Lake and we will be spending quite a bit of time in Brownsburg, Indiana this summer as that is where the Titan Racing USA, shop is and let me tell you its heaps of fun there and lots of room to run. I am also hoping to catch up with Mason Hannagan a lot this summer as they only live the next town away. That also means Dad will be racing with my Uncle Randy AKA “CHICKEN LEGS” that’s what I call him because I can’t repeat what my Dad calls him. So there you have it a brief recap of the Aussie Season and now I am caught up on my writing I can go back to riding HI-PIE (that’s my horse Aunty Noan gave me)
I forgot to mention one other thing.....Its that time of the year again we are raising money for the GT ALLSTARS- and I know how bad the economy is but if you could pledge any amount of money we would greatly appreciate it. You can go directly to http://www.relay.cancercouncil.com.au/?2009/sutherland_shire_2009/the_gt_allstars/. Please select “Emma” as I would like to beat my parents this year again!!!

Emma Tatnell
