Tatnell History

I have never been happier and more complete in my life than I am today. This is due to the love that my wife Amy & I share for each other and our new addition to The Tatnell family and our little princess Emma. Thank you for allowing me to live my dream and getting to share it with both of you.

Now share some of the other special people that are part of my life.

My super hero, mentor & best friend has & will always be my Dad. My Mum & Dad have given up so much to further my career & have always been by my side for guidance & a swift kick in the butt when I needed it I just hope that I can be half the parent that they have been. “The gentle giant“, no one has ever driven more Australian & American miles with a racecar in tow than my Uncle Joe. All of Tatnell Motorsports achievements have been made possible because of Uncle Joe’s dedication over the past forty nine years of racing

Apart from my Dad, Allan Felsch has been the biggest influence in my racing career. Al is a great friend & without a doubt one of the greatest crew chiefs & engine builders of all time anywhere in the world. His record will amaze people. Even today whilst in America or in Australia I still consult Allan on ideas. Court Grandstaff will always be one of my favorite car owners & good friend. When I had the opportunity to leave Courts team to drive for Rush Racing it was Court who shook my hand & told me that this ride would be able to take me to the next level were he wasn’t able to. Courts quote after a bad night was “15th is better than 16th”

Roger Johnson is the reason I am still racing in the USA. Roger through his company Kele & Associates gave me my first big break in America by driving for him & Deuce Turrell. Roger also personally funded my own World of Outlaws campaign in 1999 & has help guide me both on & off the racetrack. Roger is also the reason that the World Challenge race at Knoxville is so popular with drivers & fans as this was his baby.   Graeme Moore gave me a chance to show what a dirt guy could do on the blacktop. Unfortunately, due to lack of sponsorship that ended our run. I know that with the correct funding & GM’s leadership we would have been a force to watch out for. Hopefully, one day we will get another shot at the black top, possibly Bathurst.
